Skincare is Healthcare
Although I really believe beauty comes from within, we all still want to look our best. Our skin is our largest organ and we only get one face, so taking care of it is a priority.
Is your skin dry, oily, or looking dull? Have you been struggling with acne, rosacea, eczema, or signs of aging? As a Licensed Medical Aesthetician, I have worked with many clients to get to the root cause of their skin issues. Healthy glowing skin is possible for everyone. The products you put on your face, the foods you eat, and the vitamins and supplements you take, sleep, hydration, and many other factors all affect how good or bad your skin looks.
Aging- is inevitable, but we can still do it well. From the foods we eat, to the products we use, to the way we take care of ourselves, it all matters when it comes to aging. Fine lines, wrinkles, pigment, and laxity are all things we can improve by taking the right steps. I can help guide you to the right products and procedures that will actually work for you and give you the glow you want to see.
Acne- is so much more than skin deep, it takes a mental and emotional toll on those affected.
A survey conducted found:
91% of people affected with acne say they have anxiety because of their skin.
43% said it affects their performance at work or school due to anxiety
69% of people avoided social situations altogether due to embarrassment of acne.
60 million people suffer from acne, 20 million have scarring from acne, and only 11% of people seek help.
1st and foremost, acne is not your fault. Some people are genetically predisposed to having acne more than others. Hormones can be a contributing factor, as well diet and lifestyle. Healing your gut is key to clearing your skin and preventing future breakouts.
Rosacea- is a chronic inflammatory condition of the capillaries of the skin.
The capillaries in your skin are actually inflamed. It is considered by most doctors an autoimmune disorder. Characterized by heat and redness and it can be accompanied by acne.
Rosacea tends to affect women between the ages of 30 and 60.
While there is no cure for rosacea, it can be managed. The first step is to heal your gut. Leaky gut syndrome is linked to autoimmune diseases such as eczema and rosacea. Our gut health has an effect on the immune system and there is a clear connection between rosacea and eczema and gut health. As well, there are skin care products with research behind them to help heal your skin.
With extensive knowledge of products, procedures, and nutrition, I can guide you to what will make a difference for your skin.
